The Greenway is participating in a consortium of twelve National Heritage Areas in pursuing a reauthorization bill in Congress.
The Greenway is participating in a consortium of twelve National Heritage Areas in pursuing a reauthorization bill in Congress. The bill would extend the authorizations for all twelve NHAs by four years.Congressman Tonko is the chair of the National Heritage Area’sCongressional Caucus and Hinchey was the original sponsor. Congressman Steve LaTourette (R-OH) hasagreed to be a sponsor of the extension bill in the house. In addition, Congressman Latham (R-IA) willalso support. Senator’s Grassley (R-IA)and Harkin (D-IA) have agreed to cosponsor the bill in the Senate. We anticipate garnering support from members Engel, Lowey, Hayworth and Gibson.
